Dave Walsh has led growth private equity investing at Kayne Anderson since 2010 and serves as Kayne Anderson growth equity’s managing partner. In his role, he works with his partners in setting the strategic direction for the growth equity platform, overseeing the overall investment activities, creating value within existing portfolio companies, and leading business development. Walsh is also a member of the investment committee.

Since the beginning of his career in 1984, Walsh has a record of successfully building and financing technology companies. He started his career in the Silicon Valley, first as a member of Ernst & Young’s corporate finance group, then with a private equity fund. Walsh became CEO of a troubled data network company in 1991. He and his team grew this company until it was successfully acquired by Transaction Network Services Inc., (TNS). While at TNS, Walsh lead the SS7 software and network business. After TNS was acquired by PSINet for $700 million, Walsh departed to start a data analytics company that provided real-time revenue assurance solutions to telecom companies.

Walsh earned a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Geneseo and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
